Location and Times

The Joondalup Scout Group operates from the Connolly Community Centre at 5 Glenelg Place, off Hodges Drive

Joeys run on the Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30pm.

Cubs run on the Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm.

Scouts run on the Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Venturers run on the Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

All sections operate during the school terms with occasional activities held during the school holidays. Scouts and Venturers also have at least one weekend activity every four weeks.

Assistant Leaders

Leaders are required to be present at all Scouting activities. Without the leaders we would not be able to operate. We always require leaders to coordinate the running of Scouts. Please consider becoming an Assistant Leader: we can offer you the following.

  1. Reduced group fees for your children, saving of $80 per child.

  2. Uniform fully paid for at the completion of 12 months service.

  3. Full training at no cost to yourself.

  4. Your children will bypass the waiting list gaining direct entry to either Cubs or Scouts.

You get to work with a team of other leaders, so you are not on your own. As an assistant leader you will help out each Tuesday or Wednesday, run some games and activities and help with some of the planning. If you cannot help on some evening or the weekend activities that doesn't matter.

Parent Helpers

Supervising a large number of children requires the help of many adults. As a parent of a cub or scout you will be required to help out at least once per term.
The group also requires adults to help in many other roles including the following: Group Leader, Treasurers, Secretaries, Quarter Masters, Fund Raising and many other committee positions.

Working with Children Check

WWCAll adults involved with the scouting movement require a Working With Children Check (WWC).

Any adults attending an over night camp require a WWC.

Contacts

Additional contact information is available in the Contact List.

Paperwork.

New members are welcome to attend for up to 4 weeks without any commitment, to see how they like the programs.

For duty of care reasons, we need some paperwork filled out on your first night but this does not obligate you to continue to join.
